Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Conway

Jean Elizabeth Conway, 86, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022. Jean was born January 12, 1936, in Des Moines Iowa, to Maurice and Pauline Hodges. She was a nursing school graduate from Graceland College and the University of Iowa. Jean married Richard Mark “Dick” Conway in 1961. They were blessed with 48 years together until Dick’s passing in 2010. Jean was an amazing cook. She kept every recipe she ever made and made notes with dates of what she liked and disliked about each recipe. Jean also collected cookbooks. She wrote everything down. She kept a Christmas binder, a calendar, and a journal. Jean was super creative, threw the best parties, and always gave the best gifts. She put so much thought into choosing the perfect gift for each person. Jean cherished her family and she loved playing games. Chicken Foot was one of her favorites. Her grandchildren’s favorite snack with grandma was popcorn with M&M’s. Jean cherished her feathered friends, especially her beloved bird Zane Grey, along with bird’s past, Larry Bird and Bobby. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Jean is preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Pauline Hodges; and her loving husband Dr. Richard Conway. Jean is survived by her daughters Moira McCue and husband, Brian, Lisa Conway, Caty Demers and husband, Pete; sister Janice Jimenez and husband, Paul; grandchildren Ben McCue (Amber), Conrad McCue (Gina), Alex Crespo (Cheri), Ricky Crespo, Joey Crespo, Emily Crespo, Courtney Demers, Erin Demers, A.J. Demers; great grandchildren Sienna, Rylee, Baden, Alijah, Olive, Luna, Everly, and a host of other dear family and friends. Services for Jean will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm, with Trey Crespo officiating. There will be a reception following the funeral service from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
