Obituary of Robert Sosa

Robert Sosa, 85, of Pearland, Texas passed away Friday, January 14, 2022. Robert was born August 8, 1936, in Gary Indiana, to Vincent and Laura Sosa. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, Robert dated and married Barbara Ann Blanco in 1959. They lovingly enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was always there for his family. He was a wonderful provider and cherished time spent with his family. Robert retired after working 45 years for U.S. Steel. While he was working, he found time to coach his children’s baseball and softball teams. Robert was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and was ecstatic to watch the Cubs win the World Series with his family. He enjoyed music, sports, swimming, and especially fishing outings with his children and grandchildren. Robert will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Laura Sosa; twin sons Richard Michael and Robert Anthony Sosa; brother Ralph Sosa; sisters Rachel Sosa Roop, Maggie Sosa; and grandsons Nathaniel and Robert Michael Sosa. He is survived by his wife Barbara Sosa; sons Robert Sosa Jr, and wife, Diane, Christopher Paul Sosa and wife, Cathy, Richard Anthony Sosa and wife, Jennifer; daughters Mary Beth Sosa and partner, Jessica Rutledge, Mona Chavarria and husband, Sergio; grandchildren Christian Kugler, Nickalis Sosa, Alexander Chavarria, Andrew Chavarria, Jacob Sosa, Ryan Sosa, Kristina Sosa, Hudson Sosa, Harrison Sosa; great grandchild Aubrey Sosa, and a host of other dear family and friends. Our lips cannot speak how we loved you, Our hearts cannot tell what to say, But God only knows how we miss you, In our home and our hearts - WE LOVE YOU! Services for Robert will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 2:00 – 2:30 pm. The funeral service is scheduled at 2:30 pm, with Father Jim Courville officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery, in Pearland, Texas.
