Obituary of Brad Paschal

Please share a memory of Brad to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We celebrate the loving life of Brad Lee Paschal, 56, of La Porte, Texas. Brad’s life with us ended February 2, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with mental illness. His life lives on in eternity and in our hearts. Brad was born to Neville John “Ike” and Sharon Paschal on January 19, 1966 in Baytown, Texas. A fun and vibrant personality from the beginning, Brad was adventurous, humorous and personable. Brad was always active in baseball and other school activities growing up in La Porte from an early age until he graduated from La Porte High School, Class of '84. He immediately started his college education at San Jacinto Jr. College and went on to study Business and Marketing at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. After graduating from SWTSU in 1989 with a degree in Business, his life challenges and experiences navigated his passion toward investing in the lives of kids and redirected his love for learning to become a teacher back to the school district where he grew up. He spent the last 23 years as a teacher for LPISD and was recognized as “District Secondary Teacher of the Year” during his career. He even had the opportunity to coach sports and was a huge La Porte Bulldog booster. This was his true “calling” in life. His ability to help students discover themselves and find a path for success was a “gift” that came from his own journey. He also continued his own education at University of Houston and Concordia University with a Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration. Brad met Heather (Henry) Williams and daughter Morgan and married on July 24, 2004. Brad loved fishing but knew this new family was his “prize catch”. He deeply loved and was proud of his wife who also teaches for LPISD and Morgan’s activities as a student in the district along with Morgan’s graduation from the University of Texas. They spent many hours around their teaching careers and they spent time supporting and watching many high school football games and other school activities. As a family they made many memories spending their free time enjoying camping and fishing together. Brad is survived by his wife Heather Paschal, daughter Morgan Williams, mother Sharon (Paschal) Hensley, brother Gary & Connie Paschal, niece Sarah Paschal, step-brother Jay Hensley, and step-sisters Sandy & Lori Hensley. He was predeceased by his father Neville John “Ike” Paschal and step-dad Jack Hensley. We all will miss Brad but are grateful for the loving memories that we all can share with each other of his life well lived and his love and investment into our lives and the many other lives his life touched. He lives on in our hearts. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 pm Wednesday February 9, 2022 at Clayton Funeral Home in La Porte, Texas.
