Amy Rhea Gates, 25, passed away Saturday February 5, 2022.
Amy was born October 1, 1996, to parents Weldon Carl Gates and Melia Lord Jacques. Amy was a beautiful young woman, a talented musician/song writer, pet stylist, and aspired to become an LCDC counselor. Her greatest goal in life was to be a good mother and make sure her children, Ysela Foster, Meadow McCellon, Constantine McCellon, and bonus son Mathew McCellon, knew how much she loved them.
Amy had a love for traveling fueled by her childhood which fostered her ability to easily adapt. She lived in a variety of places across east Texas and New Mexico. Wherever she went she brightened the lives of everyone with whom she came in to contact with her beautiful smile and infectious laugh.
One of the most beautiful things about Amy was her big heart for not only animals but for people. Her passion and love for others allowed her to open her heart to so many, causing her to consider many non-relatives as family. She had a bonus sister and mother, Lacey and Lynn Waller.
Amy is survived by her parents, children, Grandfather Eric Lord, her sisters Leanna Hayes and husband Blake, Ericka Earvin and husband Larenzo, her brother Jacob Gates and wife Desiree, 6 nephews, 5 nieces, 6 uncles, 2 aunts and several cousins.
She was preceded in Death by grandfather Harvey Henry Gates, grandmothers Ethel Rhea Gates and Amy Copeland Lord, Uncle Danny Garcia, and former stepfather James Roland Mills, along with several friends that she held dear to her heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday February 19 at 2:00 pm at the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel 201 S 3rd St. LaPorte
In lieu of flowers Amy's family would like donations to be sent to Providence outreach in her name. https://provom.org/
