Obituary of Joyce Ellisor Foreman

Joyce Ellisor Foreman, 96, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents G.W. and Alline Langham; first husband Holmes Ellisor; second husband Weldon Foreman; son Mike Ellisor; daughter Betty Sue Ellisor; one brother; and six sisters. Left to cherish Joyce’s memory are her son Robert “Fred” Ellisor (Sharon); daughter Judy Ellisor (Stephanie); eight grandchildren-April Schmidt (Ronnie), Dawn Sapp (Jason), Mike Ellisor (Laurel), Kyle Ellisor (Mary), Courtney Marlow (Wey), Lindsay Freeman (David), Whitney Blocker (Lane), Blake Ellisor (Chelsea); 17 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild, and a host of many other dear family and friends. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured time spent with her family. She could do just about anything; she assembled a WWII plane ignition system at Lockheed, worked in Shell Oil lab, sewed clothing, changed oil in the car, built furniture, and performed house repairs. Joyce was also a skilled cook and an avid gardener. She worked for over 30 years as a school secretary/registrar. Following retirement, Joyce enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She absolutely cherished any time her family would get-together, and especially enjoyed cheering at the children’s’ sporting events. She was awarded “Volunteer of the Year” by her community for her work with charities and civic organizations. In her spare time, Joyce was known to love to shop at Dillard’s and garage sales. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank all the staff and caregivers at the Landing at Watercrest Shadow Creek Ranch and Vantage Hospice for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation (Team- Coach's Crusaders) in memory of Joyce’s son, Mike Ellisor. Services For Joyce will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00 – 10:00 am. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, with Pastor Karen Dorris officiating. Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery in Grapeland, Texas.
