Obituary of Harold "Harri" Goonie

Harold “Harri” Goonie, 74, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022. He is preceded in death by his father Ramkisoon Goonie; mother Piarie Ramcharan; and an older brother and sister. Left to cherish Harold’s memory are his loving wife, of 48 years, Dassie Mahabir Goonie; sons Vijay Goonie and wife, Roshini, Vishnu Goonie and wife, Hetal; daughter Vidiya Goonie; his beautiful granddaughter Shivena and his handsome grandsons Shivekh, Jaikishan, Deveer; five brothers, seven sisters and a host of many other family and friends. Harold loved his family dearly and was a wonderful provider for them. He graduated with honors from the University of Houston with a degree in accounting. Harold was a hardworking man who was extremely driven and would not take no for an answer. He always wanted to be successful in life to make things better for himself and his family. Harold taught his family to be independent. He was a very spiritual person, who was also very direct and humble. Harold enjoyed a good conversation with family and friends, and he loved telling stories. Harold cherished his family and his grandchildren brought him great joy. Harold loved spending time outdoors, he loved the ocean and scuba diving. Harold especially enjoyed tending to his garden. In his spare time, Harold enjoyed enlightening himself spiritually and watching Indian movies, watching cricket, and keeping up to date with the daily world news. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services for Harold will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, beginning at 9:00 am, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas.
