Obituary
Obituary of Rosa Monday
Please share a memory of Rosa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rosa Ramirez Monday was born on January 27, 1954, in Houston, Texas. She was the second daughter of seven children born to Epifano and Raquel Ramirez. Rosa lived her entire life in the Houston/Pearland Texas area until God called her home on Friday, May 6, 2022.
On September 11, 1973, Rosa signed on for an adventure and married the love of her life, Lloyd Ray Monday. They enjoyed 31 years together until his passing in 2004. Together they raised their two children, Teresa, and Shaun. Rosa worked in the UTHSC for most of her career and made many lifetime friends during this time. She retired in 2007 so that she could help take care of her parents and spend time with her grandchildren. Rosa enjoyed many trips to Virginia to visit Teresa, Steve, and their family. Over the years, she made many friends and was deeply loved by her Virginia family.
Anyone that knew Rosa would tell you that she was one of the strongest women they ever knew…and they are right. She was strong in her will to live, strong in her love of her family and friends but above all, she was strong in her faith. Rosa lived to love Jesus, her family, and the light of her life, her grandchildren. This display of strength and love is how Rosa will be forever remembered.
Rosa is preceded in death by her parents Epifano and Raquel Ramirez; husband Lloyd Ray Monday; and sister Esther Gonzales. She is survived by her son Shaun Monday; daughter Teresa Harrison and husband, Stephen; brothers Epifano Ramirez Jr. and wife, Alice, Paul Ramirez; sisters Mary Toombs and husband, Herb, Emily Duncan and husband, John, Dolores Bravo and husband, Frank; grandchildren Ellie Harrison, Wyatt Harrison, Jayden Monday, and a host of many other dear family and friends.
