Obituary of Sandra "Sandy" Ruth McWilliams

Please share a memory of Sandra "Sandy" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sandra Ruth Lunsford, a/k/a Sandy McWilliams, 87, went on to be with her Jesus on Sunday, June 26, 2022. If you knew her, you loved her, and she made a point to love back without judgment.  Sandy wanted to live as Jesus lived, and she was a devoted Christian with many questions. She was born in Dallas, TX on April Fool's Day, 1935. The family eventually moved to Houston, Texas working in the marble industry. She graduated from Milby High School and attended the University of Houston as an Art Major.  During her College years she also danced on the Frontier Fiesta team.  At Milby she met Tommy McWilliams, and they eventually married and had six children:  Kim, Melissa, Ty, Tessa, Curt and Chris.  While busy raising six children, she also sold Avon and Christmas cards, and accomplished her real estate Broker's license with which she earned many Top Sales awards over her 50+ years working as a professional Realtor.   Music was her name, and she loved singing (what a voice!) and brought music into every facet of her life and the lives of her children.  Her other hobbies and talents were plenty: visual art, dance, gardening, writing and all things creative.  Backroading across Texas was her passion, and there wasn't a Texas river or creek that she did not tiptoe through.

Sandy is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Richard Koctar of Houston, TX, and by five of her remaining children:  Kim Bushman of Houston, TX, Melissa McWilliams of Lago Vista, TX, Ty & Melanie McWilliams of Pearland, TX, Curt and Jennie McWilliams of League City, TX, and Chris and Lacey McWilliams of Pearland, TX.  She leaves us with 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  The hole remaining in the Universe here without her is vast.

A Celebration of her life will be held at Crosspoint Church, 1134 Old Alvin Road in Pearland on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Visitation begins at Noon.
