Obituary of Catherine Rehnee Gardes

Catherine was a devoted, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend to many.  Cathy worked at Wapiti Energy as an Executive Assistant and was a dedicated confident and fun colleague for 20 years.  She will be greatly missed by so, so many.

Cathy would have wanted to remember her Wapiti Energy friends with gratefulness and love and to the Agee family and her wonderful coworkers too numerous to mention.  Cathy would want them to know that she cherished each one of them.

She also had many forever friends at her Townhomes and those close friends and acquaintances she knew in this lifetime.

Cathy attended John Foster Dulles High School and dedicated her life mostly in the oil and gas industry. Higher education was in life and leaving a legacy of how one should live.

Cathy had many wonderful virtues that allowed her to influence with wisdom and care.  She had a funny and punny sense of humor that would rival a stand-up comedian’s quickness.  Using this gift, she gave her time freely for others to encourage them and was a humanitarian model for what investing in others should look like.

Her passions were cross stitch, bead working and home decor.  The back of her needlework held as much care and attention as the front design.  Cathy loved her four-legged fur babies, Bonnie, Nipsey and Molly, and a lifetime of hands on caring for others. 

Cathy had an easy laugh which carried her through life’s rough patches.  Though she had many private struggles in her own life, no one would have known what she was handling.  She had the strength and determination to do things by herself to selflessly keep her burdens private and her conversations confidential.

Memorials in lieu of flowers can be dedicated to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or The Houston SPCA for her deep love of animals.

The entire family appreciates the heartfelt sentiments of those touched by her life and will be read at a private family service. 

Many have the opportunity to share what they have done in life by the end days.  For Cathy, who she became and influenced also became the greater part of her legacy.

Rest in peace, Cathy.  Time will not dull your memory.  Your family and friends will miss you so much.
