Obituary of James Dudley Soileau
James Dudley Soileau,63, departed this life on July 12, 2022. He was born in Lafyette Louisiana on May 5, 1959. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Eva Mae Malbrough Soileau and brother, John Soileau. Left to cherish his memory are brothers, Darryl Soileau and wife Patsy, Michael and wife Annie, Kenneth Soileau and wife Kim, Patrick Soileau, and Andrew Soileau; sisters, Sheila Goodley and husband Curtis, Virginia Lamar, Teresa Soileau, and Valentine Holmes and husband Brian; along with a host of other family and friends.
James, the first-born son of Dudley and Eva, was known as a man with a big heart. He loved people and would do anything possible to help his fellow man. He was an amazing artist. He could draw whatever he saw beautifully. In his younger days he was into fitness and enjoyed working out and keeping his body in great shape. He was a huge music fan. His self-proclaimed nickname was, “Jam Master.” James loved family gatherings, especially when there was good food involved. He loved sports. His favorites were football, boxing, and fishing. He especially loved cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints. If the Saints or Cowboys were playing, he was sure to be watching. James served in the United States Marine Corps. It was his proudest accomplishment. He was honorably discharged, receiving the Good Conduct Medal and Rifle Expert Badge. He traveled to California, Virginia, Washington, and Okinawa Japan. He later spent his civilian life as a corrections officer at the Phelps Correctional Facility. James will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services for James will be held at the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel. (201 South 3rd St. La porte, Texas 77571) The Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am, on Friday, July 22nd. The Funeral Service will commence following the visitation at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery. (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas)
