Obituary of Betty Merle Boone

Betty Merle Boone, 98, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Kitty Goins; loving husband, Van Boone Jr.; and brothers William C. Goins, Joseph Dickson Goins, and Jimmy Goins. Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her daughter, Patsy Cashion, and a host of many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Betty truly loved people and she never met a stranger. She absolutely loved talking with and getting to know anyone she met. Betty enjoyed traveling while working for Continental Airlines. She was also a successful Mary Kay salesperson. Betty always wanted to look her best. She loved going to the theater, special occasions, and birthday celebrations. In her spare time, Betty loved tending to her garden, she had a green thumb, and could grow the most beautiful flowers. She was also a big animal lover. Betty remained active and enjoyed good health for most of her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Betty will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, 2314 N. Grand Blvd, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00 – 10:00 am. The funeral will be held at 10:00 am, with pastor Reggie Clemons officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale, in Houston, Texas.
