Obituary of Ramona Davalos Gay

Ramona Davalos Gay, 84, passed away Monday, September 19, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Juanita Lopez Davalos; husband Lewis Gay; son Danny Minor; sisters Dorothy Anderson and Maria Davalos. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Stan Minor and wife Marilyn, Jeff Minor, and William Gay and wife Kathy; daughters Linda Folsom and husband George, Sandy Hill; brother Lorenzo Davalos; sisters Juanita Davalos, and Veronica Albrecht; fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Ramona was dedicated to her family, especially her grandchildren. It brought her great joy to be surrounded by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  She was an excellent cook and loved to cook for family gatherings. She was especially known for her enchiladas, pozole, tortillas, New Mexico tacos, and spaghetti.

Ramona was a master seamstress and crafter. She had an excellent eye for design and detail.  Ramona was also very tech savvy and used her computer skills to create beautiful works of art and design her own embroidery projects. She taught sewing and was one of the founding members of the local knitting club. Ramona was an avid reader and enjoyed reading numerous books. Ramona will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Ramona will be Visitation and Rosary 6-8 pm with Rosary beginning at 6:00 pm, Tuesday September 27, at the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel, 201 S. 3^rd St, in LaPorte, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, September 28, at 10:00 am, at the St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 2921 Center St., in Deer Park.
