Obituary of Wayne Floyd Wright
Wayne Wright, 89, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd Dallas and Emma Painter Wright, brother Jesse Wright, and grandson Chance. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Betty Thornton Wright, daughters Kim Stephens and husband Damon and Wendy Wilson and husband Kevin, grandchildren Sterling, Malorie and Braden, great-grandson Kye and a host of other family and friends.
Wayne retired from Lubrizol in 1993 with over 25 years of service. He was known as an honest man who loved his family. Wayne was very mechanically inclined and could repair about anything. He was a welder and liked to build anything made of metal. Wayne was a big fan of classic western movies. Wayne served his country in the United States Army form 1954 to 1956.
He was an active member of the La Porte Community Church.
Wayne loved traveling and camping with friends and family in his RV. He and Betty traveled in their RV to all forty-nine continental United States and most of the provinces of Canada. He also loved to cruise with family and friends. He and Betty took many big ship cruises, including trans-Atlantic, small riverboat cruises in Europe, and other trips to Europe, Mexico, and Hawaii.
Services for Wayne will be Friday, September 30, at the La Porte Community Church, 202 South 1st Street. Visitation 10:00 am with Service following at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his name to the La Porte Community Church at 202 South 1st Street in La Porte.
