Obituary of Gail Lagarde Willson

Gail Lagarde Willson, born November 7, 1939, in Baton Rouge Louisiana, passed away October 9, 2022 in Pearland, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Charles Anthony (Charlie) Willson, mother Velma Estelle Lagarde and father Gabriel Charles Lagarde. Gail is survived by her brother Steve Lagarde and sister-in-law Kathy; her daughter Paige Willson; son Brent Willson and daughter-in-law Julie; daughter Kelly Hackworth and son-in-law Matt; grandsons Sam and Charlie Hackworth and Nathan Willson; granddaughter Kate Willson; and her grandcats. Gail is also survived by a group of dear childhood friends and all of their children, with whom many an easter egg hunt at the Wiese’s was shared.

 Gail was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and Louisiana State University where she received a degree in Fine Arts.  Gail continued her art in many facets throughout her life, painting or doing ceramics with her children, decorating for one of the many BRHS reunions, or completely re-landscaping the back yard and rearranging day lilies. Her kindness, patience, gentle spirit and creativity will be missed by all who knew her.  A memorial service will be held in Baton Rouge at a later date to lay her to rest with her husband and parents. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the charity of your choice.
