Friendship meant everything to my dear friend, Lisa. She'd say, "I don't have one best friend; that's not inclusive. I have MANY best friends." A quote she liked: "A friend will always tell you exactly what she thinks! So, I guess that makes me friends with everybody." Lisa was a true-blue pal no matter what, even when the chips were down.
You fed my soul; you're forever in my heart, Lisa. I'll always remember your boisterous laugh, your spunk, your generosity, your love-of-life, your rare ability to never judge people, and your great capacity to love others unconditionally.
Love,
Laurel

Lisa and I have been close friends since age 24 in Houston. She was a kind and special soul to me; someone with whom I could be completely authentic. We shared laughter, confidences, wonderful food, and we were often side buddies on trips. I'll always remember her being quick to laugh in her warm and boisterous way, and the first to get up and dance-- so spirited and fun! She lit up the room. Always in my heart. Love and miss you, Lisa.

I met Lisa at the post office when she was living in Pennsylvania. Yes, two strangers meeting at the post office. And the comfort and caring I felt in our conversation and her presence was so special! Our short friendship started there - but has never been forgotten. Rest in peace, sweet Lisa.

Lisa always and in all ways let the people in her life know that she cared for them, and she would always be there for them. And I've never known anyone who remained so intellectually curious her entire adult life, and so emotionally connected to the people she cared about. I feel gratitude for being one of the lucky ones to have known and loved her. God bless you, sweet Lisa.

Lisa and I met in 1981 at a health club in Beaumont. She was working there, and I was applying to join. We became lifelong friends immediately. She is the best friend I ever had. We shared countless laughs and tears over the years and had our ups and downs. We lived at times in the same town and at times across the country. But we kept constant contact and through all those years there was never more than a couple weeks that went by where we did not talk. Boy did life take us both on exciting rides from the joys of her becoming a mother to the sorrows of our mutual declining health and everything in-between.
Lisa was so blessed to have Elayne and John as her parents. She was so in love and proud of Luke and Seth, and to my daughter, Mary, she will always be Aunt Lisa.
I will miss her so very much but know that we will soon be laughing again in heaven and the difficult times will be a thing of the past.

Q: Where did Lisa like to travel?
A: Lisa loved to travel. I enjoyed hearing about the places she would visit; always meeting new friends wherever she went. On this trip, I had the pleasure of joining Lisa in NYC! We dined, laughed, shopped and joined a studio audience. It was the best day!
