Obituary of Gisela Krambs Rhodes

Gisela Krambs Rhodes, 73, passed away on March 18, 2011. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Donald Rhodes; and her parents, Ludwig and Katharina Werle. Gisela is survived by her brother, Horst Kramb; sisters, Elizabeth Schlorke, Margaret Kuni, Helga Hartmann, and Ursula Grabert; nieces, Karen Carter and Miriam Grabert; Grand nieces, Mina Carter; her close friend Taraiz Karafa; God children Lorri and Nicole Karafa; as well as a host of many other family and friends. Gisela was an avid reader whose favorite book and movie was Pride and Prejudice. She loved shopping, gardening, and making pottery and all types of ceramics. Some of favorite pastimes included traveling all over the world with her husband, Donald. Gisela was also very fond of good food and always looked forward to a plate of Italian or Mediterranean food. Gisela’s famous goulash was a family recipe brought back from Germany and she loved to share it with everyone. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A memorial service for Gisela will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Rev. Dr. Brian K. Gigee of New Life Lutheran Church in Pearland officiating.
