Jim Chambers Jr., age 68 of Rosharon, Texas, passed away at his home on April 23, 2008. He is survived by his grandson, Rusty Young & his wife Janna and their daughter Taylor; daughter Sarah Beth Bailey; brothers, George “Butch†Chambers and Wilbert “Web†Chambers; and a sister, Hatty Chambers.
Jim was born in Pleasant Unity, Pennsylvania. He moved to Texas over fifty years ago as an employee of Brown & Root. Jim was a third generation auto mechanic and started his own business soon after arriving here. He owned gas stations and purchased land in the rice fields of Rosharon where he lived for more than thirty five years. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. in Japan during the 1950s. His grandson, Rusty, was his proudest accomplishment. He especially loved Rusty’s family and his great-granddaughter Taylor.
Jim’s graveside service is scheduled at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 1, 2008 with military honors at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, 281-447-8686.
