Obituary of Elaine Marie Shearer

Elaine Marie Shearer was born in Mountain View, California on September 18, 1922 and passed peacefully Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the age of 100, in Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Louise Marcetti and sisters, June Wheeler and Rosalie Selberg. The love of her life husband of 52 years, Clyde Paul Shearer and her sons Brian Paul Shearer and Dean Paul Shearer; and second husband, of 20 years, Lee Stillens. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ball and husband, Michael; her grandchildren Stephanie Shearer, John Paul Shearer, Tasha Bates,  April Mirabella, Matt Ball, Jennifer Pierce, and  Joel Paul Shearer; great grandchildren Jessica, Bradlee, Madison, Grace, Olivia, Ian, Cole, Kasey, Sumner, Sloane, and a host of many other family and friends.

Elaine was a beautiful, kind, and generous woman who was fierce about her love for her family. She was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Elaine was an officer’s wife who supported her husband’s service to the United States with grace and honor. Elaine had a loving and giving heart.  She was a gentle soul who never met a stranger and was kind to anyone she met. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, keeping an inviting home, and especially, listening to her favorite crooner, Frank Sinatra. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Services for Elaine will be held at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, in Houston, Texas. A visitation is scheduled on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited. The funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 21st, at 10:00 am.
