Obituary of Edward Daniel Palacios
On the morning of May 5, 2023, Edward “Eddie” Palacios, peacefully passed away in his home, alongside his family after his three-year courageous battle with cancer.
Eddie was born on November 1, 1961, to Alberto Jr. and Maria Christina Palacios in San Antonio, Texas. Growing up Eddie loved to participate in different sports. Eddie is what you call a social butterfly, he loved meeting new people. To this day some of the greatest friends he had came from his childhood. That’s just a testament to who he was “a lifelong friend.” After he finished La Porte High School, he went on to attend Texas A&M University and proudly graduated, class of 1987. Eddie then began his professional career as an engineer in Houston, Texas.
In 1990, he met his wife Gloria and her three-year-old daughter Laura, whom he accepted into his life as his own. After they got married, they welcomed son Jacob and daughter Marian into the world. Together memories of a lifetime were made in the home he built with his blood, sweat and tears from the ground up. He took such pride in his yard and his tools. Not a day went by that he wasn’t out in the yard working away.
Eddie is what you would call a diehard USC Fan since he was 12 years old. Once he was old enough to travel on his own, he made it a tradition to attend a game every year, including his attendance at his last game just a few months before he passed. Eddie will always be remembered for his passion, his charisma, his love for life and for the lord.
He was preceded in death by his mother Maria Christina Palacios; his in-laws Hilarion and Gloria Flores. Eddie is survived by his father Alberto Palacios; wife Gloria Palacios; daughter Laura Flores; son Jacob Palacios and wife Melanie; daughter Marian Palacios (Daniel Russo); grandchildren Louisa “Lulu” Seibert and Reinhardt Anuanu Russo; siblings Maria “Lottie” McNair and husband Bob; Burt Palacios and wife Gena; nieces and nephews, cousins, and longtime friends.
