Obituary of Peggy Ann Holland
Peggy Verret Holland, 88, of La Porte, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2023, surrounded by family, in Folsom, Louisiana. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Verret, and Nolia and Corbit Green; husband Lee Holland; and siblings, Janet Crather, Billie Jeffers, and Wayne and Diann Verret. Left to cherish her memory are her, children, Vickie Adams and husband Richard, Michael Holland and partner Karen, Debbie Riggenbach and husband Garth; grandchildren, Shannon LeBlanc and husband Michael, Chris Riggenbach and wife Annette, Misty Bryan and husband Brandon, Ashley Pitts and husband Brian; great-grandchildren, Adam and Alexandra LeBlanc, Savannah and Madison Riggenbach, Carson and Ellie Bryan, and Vincent Pitts and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was born in Hayes Louisiana, to Clarence Verret and Nolia Derouen on September 26, 1934. She married her sweetheart, Lee Holland in 1951. From that union came three children. Peggy worked for Princes Restaurants as manager and bookkeeper for 15 years, and then retired to spend more time with her family and friends. She enjoyed volunteering and eventually working in the office at St. Mary’s Church in La Porte, from which she retired in 2020 for the second time. Peggy will be truly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Services for Peggy will be Saturday May 20th, at the St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 916 Park St. La Porte. Rosary and Visitation: 10:00 am till 12:00. Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena, Texas.
