Obituary of Charles "Chuck" Huckabee

Charles “Chuck” Wesley Huckabee was born September 14, 1958, in Houston, Texas, and passed away at the age of 64 on Saturday, May 20, 2023, in Friendswood, Texas. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Charles J. and Ramona Huckabee. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Laurie Huckabee, son Kyle Huckabee, brother Mike Huckabee and his wife Sarah, and many other dear friends and family members.

Chuck was born and raised in Pearland, Texas, graduating from Pearland High School in 1977.  He was an excellent student and a member of the Pearland Golf Team.  Chuck continued his education at the University of Houston where he earned an undergraduate degree in accounting in 1987.  He went on to have a very long and successful career as an accountant, among many other duties, for both Five Star Transportation (21 years) and DeJean Companies (21 years). 

Chuck was devoted to his family and worked hard to ensure that he provided the best life possible for them.  He was a quiet and reserved man who didn’t say much but when he did it was usually funny and rich with wisdom and humor.  Chuck was a man of faith and a long-time member of the Church of Christ both in Pearland and at the Westside congregation in Alvin. He faithfully served the Pearland congregation as a deacon for 15 years. In his spare time, Chuck volunteered as an EMT for Pearland EMS back in the 1980’s when the EMS was a volunteer department. He also earned his private pilot’s license and flew for many years.

Chuck was a kind, patient and gentle man who loved God and his family.  He was a loving father and husband, a brother in Christ and a great friend to those fortunate enough to know him.

Services for Chuck will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 25, at 10:00 am with Minister Rayford Welch officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery, in Pearland, Texas.
