Obituary of Cynthia Ann Alexander

Cynthia Ann Alexander, 64, was born on February 21, 1959, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, in Houston, Texas.

Cynthia loved life! She was a beautiful person and an amazing cook. She could whip up a pot of “anything” in no time. Her favorite ingredient was pasta, which she used in her two signature dishes…spaghetti and a big ole pot of vegetable soup! She also loved boiled crawfish, cabbage, and salt meat. Cynthia requested those meals in the weeks before her peaceful transition.

She loved spending time with her “two girls”, her siblings, her extended family, and friends. Cynthia also loved to sing and dance! She loved the color red, and would get fully dressed, almost every day, just to look cute in the house! She loved to get dressed up!

Cynthia was kind, forgiving and nurturing. Many viewed her as their mother figure because of her open and loving spirit, but she also told it like it was, whether you wanted to hear it or not! Cynthia never met a stranger and was so loved by many as a sister, mother, and friend. She loved you hard, and she was never afraid to express that. Cynthia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cynthia leaves behind two daughters, Shalana (Marcus) & Taylor; her significant other, Anthony; siblings, Delores, Patricia, Iron (Linda), Brenda Gail (Lester), Debra, Floyd, and Corbett Ray (Chon); God daughters, Melissa, and Dwan, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Isabelle Alexander; sister, Olivia Hampton; and brother, Allen Alexander.

Services for Cynthia will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 9:30 – 10:30 am, with the Rosary starting at 10:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 am.
