Obituary of Judith Ann Pope

Judith Ann Pope, 78, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Helena Mabra; brothers Kenneth Mabra, Charlie Mabra, Melvin Mabra; and sisters Jannette Mabra, and Lisa Miller. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, of 60 years, Donald Pope; daughters Donna Self and husband, Art, Dana Browning and husband, Buddy; sister Lois Wiese; sister-in-law Caroline Mabra; brother-in-law Jim Wiese; grandchildren Ryan Self, Tiffany Self, Brandon Self, Garrett Brown, Aaron Browning; great grandchildren Brooklyn Self, and a host of many other family and friends.

Judith was strong in her faith, loved the Lord, and cherished her family as well as her beloved dogs Milo and Little Donnie. She loved spending time with her family, and she especially adored her grandchildren. They affectionately knew her as their “Memaw”. Judith loved tending to her garden, she had quite a green thumb and could grow anything. She grew the most beautiful flowers and vegetables. Judith loved her church family. She enjoyed working on the computer and handled the financials at her church for many years. Judith also loved her Pizza Hut pizza. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, Judith’s family requests that donations be made in her memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
