We lost a very special person and she will be severely missed. I will always remember her as one of my "work moms" reminding me to smile and not take life too seriously and I'm sure Susan started a party in Heaven the second she arrived. I'll always cherish the memories and fun times we shared between company Christmas parties and our after work Happy Hours. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

We are so sad to learn of Susan’s passing. We lost touch after the elementary and middle school years where our sons were classmates and friends of Josh and Jess. I have such fond memories of Susan! She was so full of energy and fun. I remember the many Halloweens, play dates, and over nights we shared. She was such a great mom. When our house flooded after Tropical Storm Allison - Susan was the first person to arrive helping us pull up carpet. I later learned her own house had been flooded. I was struck by her generosity and kindness - always thinking of others first. She was smart and accomplished and I was in awe of how she was able to juggle work and family life. The wonderful memories we have of Susan and the Jenkins family will always be a part of the Rachal family. We send our love and deepest sympathy to Josh and Jess and your families. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Love, Karen and Lindy Rachal

I’m so sorry for your loss. The first few things that come to mind when I think about Susan, her love for her children and grandchildren, family, and friends. She never knew a stranger. They were just future friends she had not seen, and she did not know their name yet. She could turn into a protective mamma bear if someone threatens, harms, or crosses the ones he loved. It took alot to ever get her upset. She always found a silver lining to things. Happy most all of the time and if you were unhappy, she made you laugh and be happy. She was the definition of a person of their word. I will miss her so much. I will miss Susan, her smile, laughter and her go get it attitude. She was a real one of a kind.

I have so many wonderful memories of Susan. I remember first meeting her at Sornson & Associates and thinking I wanted to be just like her, beautiful, smart, successful, funny and always the life of the party. But she was more than that, she was kind and caring and always there to listen to my problems and give very good matter of fact advice that I was not always able to see at the time. She invited me to do things with her and Jess & Josh and I will forever cherish those times. She will always have a special place in my heart. I feel grateful and blessed to have known her. Rest in Peace my sweet friend. Love you always! Prayers, hugs and love to the family.

Susan became a huge part of our family a few years ago, and will always be one of the family matriarchs that we remember throughout our years on this earth. Susan gave us a wonderful son-in-law, and he gave us a beautiful granddaughter. Elizabeth and I got to spend some really wonderful moments with Susan celebrating our children (and grandchild) during special achievements and holidays, and our family will always cherish these times. We love all of our extended family like they are our own, and pray that The Lord In Heaven Above give them Peace and Understanding during this time.
Go and be at peace daughter, sister, mother, Nana and friend. We will see you soon. We love you.

Susan was such a fun generous friend! Here we are painting together. One time she bought tickets to the rodeo for me to go with her to hear a Christian band. When she found out that I had never been to the rodeo, she LOVED showing me the animals, art, food and shopping at the rodeo. She was a precious one of a kind friend!

I had the joy of knowing Susan and Helen when they first moved to McGregor. Our families were close. The joys of skiing at Lake Belton, and dancing classes....so many memories. Helen, I feel that she is laughing with Susie Beagle.

There are those who you remember who also remember you. Twenty years ago, at the Class of ‘71 turns 50 Reunion in Austin (we were only 49), a group of us were walking down Congress Ave. Susan and Helen were coming out of the costume shop. I said, “There’s someone that I would recognize anywhere. She said, “Me, too!” Hugged her and Helen. At our 50th Reunion, it happened again at Carlo’s Beer Garden. We were 20 years older but the recognition was still there. She was gonna have her knee replaced and I had already had it done! Lots of gab! Funny, as I was leaving the reunion on Sunday, I thought that there were some that I had seen for the last time — I never dreamed it would be Susan. See you when I get there! I know that you will recognize me! — Craig McCoy
