Tim DeWalt, 82, of LaPorte, TX, passed away on Thursday July 6, 2023. Our beloved Tim was born in Goose Creek Texas to Thomas Waters DeWalt III and Ena Ray DeWalt on June 14, 1941.

Tim attended LaPorte High School, Class of 1960, received his bachelor’s degree from University of Houston, and received his master’s from Prairie View A&M. Tim also served our country while enlisted in the Army. Tim worked for LaPorte ISD where he was known as an icon by many during his teaching career and left his mark on many of those he taught. Tim also owned and operated a successful towing business in LaPorte, DeWalt’s Towing.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ena Ray DeWalt, former spouse, Marsha DeWalt, his loving daughter, Christina DeWalt, and sister Aline Dewalt. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann DeWalt, daughter, Missy DeWalt, stepdaughters, Laura Garcia (husband Rick), and Nora Lewis (husband Bobby). Tim leaves behind eight grandchildren, Leann Strickland, Kaylan Strickland, Macy Strickland, Haley Lewis, Tyler Lewis, Ashleigh Garcia, Austin Garcia, Syndale Garcia and two great grandchildren, Gracyn Knighten and Bodie Clayton his niece, Kim Banks (husband Willie).

The family of Tim DeWalt wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Magnolia Hospice Care, and Serenity Gardens memory care.

Visitation will be at Clayton Funeral Home, LaPorte Texas, Wednesday July 12th 6:00-8:00 pm

Graveside Service Thursday July 13th 11:00am DeWalt Cemetery, Missouri City.
