Obituary of Leon Eddie Koehn

Please share a memory of Leon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Leon Eddie Koehn, 86, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Erving and Elvina Koehn; loving wife, Barbara Koehn; son Kim Allan; and sisters Vera & Vivian. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Cheryl and husband, Norman; Charlene and husband, Howard; son Daryl and wife, Kimberly; grandchildren Chris, Kyle, Michael, Jacob, Nathan, Kayleigh, Miranda, Joshua; twelve great grandchildren, and one more on the way.

Leon was married to the love of his life for 65 wonderful years before Barbara passed in 2021.  They were strong in their faith and loved the Lord. Leon and Barbara were active members of Berean Christian Church for over 50 years.  Together they instilled a deep love for the Lord in their children. Leon was a hard-working provider for his family. He had a successful career as a mechanical engineer for NASA during the Gemini and Apollo eras, and later owned Circle K Fine Meats for 35 years. Leon was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Seabrook, Texas and was honored to be a 33-degree Mason. He was also an active Shriner and Gideon.

Leon loved spending time on his farm in Pearland where he gardened, hunted and fished with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family fondly remembers him smelling like a combination of beef jerky, pipe smoke, and English Leather. Leon was a selfless man who was always willing to help anyone in need, and he never wanted any praise or recognition. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers who worked tirelessly with us day and night: Dawn Martin, Angela Costley, Loyce Brown, Sharon Adawin and Linda Landry.

A memorial service will be held for Leon on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 11:00 am, at the Pearland campus of New Hope Church at 3350 Manvel Rd, Pearland, Texas 77584.
