James "Jim" Phillip Bedford went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. He was born in Brookhaven, MS, on December 8, 1943, to P.J. Bedford and Nellie M. (Smith) Bedford. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his large family, fishing, boating, and watching Westerns on tv.

 

A long time resident of La Porte, TX, he is survived by his loving wife Judith (Reaid) Bedford, daughters Jill Bedford-Calaforra and her husband Chris, Ann Bedford-Flood and her husband Mike, son Brian Bedford and his wife Ashley, eight grandchildren (Kerstin Kemper, Travis Wells, Kaitlyn Bedford, Ben Bedford, Kourtney Flood, Natalie Bedford, Jasper Bedford, and Jonathan Bedford) and five great grandchildren (Derrick Kemper, Aubrey Bedford, Victoria Kemper, Camila Diaz and Emilio Diaz).

 

Visitation will be at Clayton Funeral Home in La Porte, TX on Wednesday, November 8, at 10:00 am, with services following at 11:00 am. He will be interred at Houston Veteran's Cemetery at 1:45 pm the same day. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Dementia Society of America at https://www.dementiasociety.org/
