Obituary of Betty Lou Brashier
Betty Lou Brashier, 88, passed away on Monday, November 6th, 2023, in Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Nona Crye; beloved husband, James Thomas Brashier; son, Mark Brashier; and brothers, George Crye and Gene Crye. Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her son, Randy Brashier and wife Judy; sister-in-law, Louise Crye; granddaughters, Stacie Utsey and husband Kevin, and Jill Frost and husband Luke; great-grandchildren, Aiden Utsey, Carson Utsey, Caraline Frost, Emerson Utsey, Campbell Frost, and Channing Frost; along with a host of many dear family and friends.
Betty was a caring and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved all her family fiercely, completely, and unconditionally. You could always depend on her to be there for her family, friends, and neighbors. Whether it was a word of advice, a helping hand, or just being there for you, Betty would always come through for her loved ones. She could keep a secret like no one else. Betty enjoyed attending all her great-grandchildren’s sporting and cheer competitions, going on road trips, gardening, and taking care of her yard. She enjoyed casino trips as well and could always win money when she gambled. Betty would plan and schedule a garage sale every year and then use all the money she raised for her special road trips with Judy, Stacie, and Jill. They had so much fun, and Betty would end up giving all the money to her granddaughters who she loved dearly. Betty also had a passion for shopping, especially at gem and jewelry shows and was an incredible shopping partner. Along with her husband, Tom, they ran a successful business for many years. While Tom was getting their company off the ground, Betty went back to school and worked as a hairdresser to support them. Once the business was rolling along, she quit doing hair and became the secretary and delivery girl for their company. Betty’s wisdom and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
