Allene Virginia Dorsey Wilson as born to Christine Archie Dorsey Mosley and Gerald Dorsey on July 15, 1929.
Allene received her elementary and secondary education from public schools in Hempstead, Texas. She attended Prairie View A & M University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and a Masters Degree in Education. She later completed post graduate studies in Elementary Education from the University of Houston. After graduation, she began her teaching career in Cypress, Texas. She would later teach in the communities of Rogers, Edna, and Ganado before settling in La Porte, where she taught at DeWalt Elementary and Bayshore Elementary. A passionate and dedicated educator for more than 35 years, Allene’s caring disposition had a positive influence on the lives of many of her students.
Allene was quiet and inclined to be introspective and reflective, often engaging in mindfulness practices as journaling, writing poetry and playing the piano. She had the ability to reproduce music simply by hearing it and was the musician for Zion Hill Baptist Church for many years.
Allene was a member of the Texas State Teachers Association and the La Porte Retired School Employees Association. She was a faithful member of La Porte Church of Christ until her health began to fail.
Allene married Jesse Lee Wilson on September 1, 1951 in Hempstead, Texas. To this union two children were born: Christie Lynn Wilson Glasco and Darryl Edwin Wilson (deceased).
She is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Jesse Lee Wilson; son, Darryl Edwin Wilson; and grandson, Eric Dwayne Glasco.
Allene received her wings on Friday, November 24, 2023. She leaves to mourn her demise her daughter, Christie (Wayne) Glasco; adopted daughter, Alfreddie (Earnest) Felder; four grandchildren, Brian Keith (Classie), Darryl Edwin, Brandon (Shantel), and Brandy Lynn; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Brinae, Cameron Brian, Khalil Ryan (Ayana), Faith Monique, and Brian; great-great grandchild, Amari Sayi; nieces, Jonell Grace, Betty Louison, Willene Rideau, Crezette Davis, Hattie Brooks, Princess Todd, and Schuwan Dorsey; nephews, Reginald T. Wilson, John Todd, Charles Wilson, RaDell Dorsey, and Jackie Wilson; her sister-friend, Marilyn Hambrick; and a host of loving and caring great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
