Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

James Harold Graham Jr., 60, of Pearland, passed away on January 7th, 2024, following a series of health complications.

James, more lovingly known as J, was born December 25th, 1963, to James and Ramona Graham in Irving, Texas. He was their only son in a family that also included three daughters. He and Elaine meet in Amarillo, Texas in 1980 then married in 1985. They were married for 38 ½ years. Together J and Elaine went on to have 3 children, Zachary Graham, Brandon Graham, and Crystal Byrd.

When J and Elaine relocated down to Manvel from Lubbock, J took up firefighting and he worked at one of the stations in Manvel until his health no longer allowed him the ability to do so, but even with that if you sat and talked with him long enough he would tell you stories of his time with the department as well as the training exercises that were required of them. He was a man of many passions including but not limited to jigsaw puzzles, the more pieces the better, shows that many of the younger generations without a doubt haven’t heard of, Christmas and sitting out on his front porch. J was a man who loved Christmas and not just because it happened to be his birthday. He loved the whole season and what it meant as a family. He for as long as anyone can remember always decorated for the holiday because you wouldn’t catch his house undecorated during the month of December. He also spent a lot of time sitting outside and just enjoying whatever the weather had to offer. It was one of his favorite pass times just sitting out on his porch in his designated chair and just listening to the world as it went on around him.

He was a huge Astros fan. He watched every on and off season game that involved the Astros. He often spent the entirety of the games texting his sister, Gwyn to talk about how the game was going and to give his commentary to her since she wasn’t in his presence to also hear it when  he said it out loud. J also loved to do what the family deemed as stalking using the life360 app to see where different members of the family were if they weren’t at their homes anymore. There were many texts asking where someone was going or request for something if he knew the location in which they were attending. J was a man who loved his family deeply and it showed in his teasing.

J is predeceased in death by his mother Ramona Graham and his in-laws T.C. and Wanda Messer. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 ½ years, Elaine Graham, his father James Graham and wife Sandra. His sisters Twyla Graham, Gwyn and husband Lee Dixon and Kim and husband Ike Amaro. His children Zachary Graham, Brandon Graham, Crystal and her husband David Byrd. He leaves behind nieces Maddie Amaro, Sydney and husband Thomas Watkins, Sam and husband Matthew Dixon-McCurry and Gabbie, husband Jordan Bryer and their son Jaxon. Along with grandchildren Dakota, Emma, Zane, and Rian.

He was much loved and admired by many and he will be deeply missed by all. Services will be held at Clayton Funeral home in Pearland, Texas on January 10th , 2024 beginning at 2:30 for the viewing followed directly by the service at 3:30. Dan Johnson will be preforming the services.
