Larry grew up in the small town of Scapoose, Oregon. He was the first in his family to attend college and was proud of that distinction. Following a stint in the army, serving in New Mexico & Germany in Nuclear Technologies, he attended the Oregon Institute of Technology to complete his bachelor’s degree. Upon graduation he was employed in Oakland, California, at Transamerica DeLaval. After a year of internship, his first assignment was in Kansas City, Missouri. Nine years later he was transferred to the Houston office, and settled in Pearland, Texas. Larry loved the town of Pearland, serving on the city council for two terms, and as Mayor Pro tempore. Larry also loved his 1933 Ford V-8. He purchased it in the late 1960’s when he was discharged from the Army. Every home he moved to; the Ford V-8 would make the move with him. It was completely stripped down to its parts and frame, and lovingly restored while residing in Pearland. Larry enjoyed being part of the local V-8 Ford Flathead club. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Larry will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 10:15 am.
