Obituary of Nora Cecilia Davis

Nora Cecilia Davis, 87, of Pearland, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 4^th, 2024.  Born in Cali, Colombia, on August 23^rd, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Pantaleon Bedoya Cruz and Mrs. Evangelina Molina Mondragon.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Charles Owen Davis, brother Rodrigo Guerrero, and sister Luz Adele Guerrero.

Cecilia is survived by her sons, Benjamin Davis & his wife Andrea, and Patrick Simmons & his wife Cathy; daughters, Duyen Barrientos Davis and Susannah Munro & her husband Mose; grandchildren, Megan, Aaron and his wife Amanda, Cole, Jared and his wife Heather, Alexa, Daniel, and Sophia; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Ayden, Ava, Jaiyana and most recently Chase. Cecilia also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Cecilia embraced her love of caring for others by pursuing a nursing career.  To follow her passion for nursing, Cecilia moved to the US, where she met the love of her life, Charles Davis.  Cecilia married Charles on November 28^th, 1964, and resided in Houston, Texas, where she began to build her life and family with Charles. Cecilia enjoyed raising her children full-time, helping run the family businesses, and selling pre-Columbian jewelry.

She traveled back to Columbia often to visit friends and family. During the last few years, she especially enjoyed her dog Sally and her cat Athena.

Cecelia loved her artwork and spent many hours creating beautiful icons in various mediums and designing necklaces. There was nothing more important to her than family, and she was close to her children and grandchildren. 

A Memorial Service for Cecilia will be held on Friday, April 26^th at 1 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 6502 County Road 48, Manvel, Texas 77578, 281-489-8720.  A Celebration of Life will follow the service. Burial will be private.  Instead of flowers, donations in Cecilia's memory may be made to the Houston Humane Society.
