Obituary of Carmelee Mary Blanchette

Carmelee Mary Blanchette passed away Saturday, November 5, 2005 at her home in Pearland, Texas, at the age of 84 years. Mrs. Blanchette was born February 20, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Salvatore and Adeline (Mole’) Barbacallo. She was a former resident of Spring Valley, Illinois and operated Blanchette Furniture Store in DePue, Illinois along side her late husband, Anthony. Mrs. Blanchette also taught school at DePue High School, in DePue, Illinois and later retired from teaching from Lincoln Junior High School in La Salle, Illinois. She was a former parishioner of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Ladd, Illinois and will be fondly remembered as a true Christian woman. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony and a grandson, Nathan Blanchette, Mrs. Blanchette is survived by a loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Adelene B. (Charles) Killian, of Pearland, Texas; two sons, Samuel Tahra Singh Blanchette, of Los Gatos, California and Anthony Blanchette, Jr., of Santa Cruz, California; and four grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 PM Friday, November 11, 2005, at Barto Funeral Home, 120 W. Cleveland, Spring Valley, Illinois (815-663-5021). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday, November 12, 2005, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Ladd, Illinois. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Park, in Spring Valley, Illinois.
