I am so saddened by the passing of Knox. Being the mother of Wendy, his daughter in law, I was very fond of him as he was such a kind, gentle, and knowledgeable man that loved God, family and country! Both he and Ann would always welcome me into their home for prayer or celebration of holidays. He will be greatly missed by all! Barbara Grimes

Hello Dear Askin’s Family
Your Dad and Mom were a Gift from God and a huge blessing when my mother passed away. Knox helped me with legal issues and your mother Ann provided a place of safety and spiritual growth. I loved them very much and have always thanked God for their love and support. You all meant a lot to me . Your parents helped me and encouraged me in my nursing career and mission work endeavors. May God richly bless all of you for their incredible generosity and kindness showed to me and to so many others.

My name is Suzanne and I am Knox's daughter
and I want share about my awesome Christian
Dad.
I know the main thing that Dad would want
everyone to remember about him the most
is how much he loves God.
In the Bible, Jesus said you must be born
again, which means you must ask Jesus into
your heart and accept Jesus as your Lord.
Dad became born again and asked Jesus into his heart at a younger age in his life.
I remember when he accepted Jesus on his life.
I have watched how Dad became a stronger
Christian throughout the years, and I watched
how much God used him to bless others and tell others about Jesus.
I remember when Mom and Dad had a daughter of a missionary come live in our house and she
went to school to become a nurse and she was
going to go back to the mission field and help as a nurse. Dad put a certain shot wave radio in the house and then this missionary daughter could talk to her family in the country where they were
missionaries.
And I remember a girl named Cheryl from La Porte,
and her mom died, and she had no one to take care of her,
so Mom and Dad took her into our house to live.
Cheryl later went to nursing school
and became a nurse.
And also, Cheryl went to Christ for the Nations
Bible School in Dallas, Texas where I also
went to Christ for the Nations too.
Dad told me he started the men's s prayer
group in La Porte.
Dad loved to go to the prayer group and the Monday night Bible Study group, where he got to teach there
sometimes.
And yes, Dad would bless people with Bibles
and Christian books.
Dad would send me Bibles and Christian books,
and he loves Jimmy Swaggert ministries,
so he would send me Jimmy Swaggert teachings
and praise and worship CD's.
During the past year, after mom died,
I talked to Dad on the phone alot,
almost every day,
since I live in Oklahoma.
I will cherish this time I had with Dad forever.
We would talk about different things,
about his day,
and we always talked about God.
Dad loves God intensely.
He told me he wanted to get closer to God all the time.
Dad knew he had to finish his race,
he had to finish what God had for him to do,
and then God would come take him to Heaven.
And I always prayed for Dad,
and I told him that God showed me that
same thing,
that when God was ready to take Dad
to Heaven,
God would come and take Dad to Heaven
And this happened,
when God came and took Dad to Heaven
on Thursday, June 13th.
Dad told me more than one time in the past year
that he already had one foot in Heaven,
and he was ready to go to Heaven
when God would come and get him.
Dad is in Heaven now,
living his eternity with Jesus Christ.
As much as I miss him intensely
right now,
and I will continue to miss him
and all the wonderful talks we had
and taking about God,
I rejoice that Dad is in Heaven with Christ.
Dad does not want us to be sad,
Dad wants us to be happy that Dad
is in Heaven with God
and of course,
so happy to see Mom again and his other family
members that are already in Heaven.
I had told Dad,
when you go to Heaven,
I will miss you so much,
but I will be so happy for you
that you are in Heaven with God forever,
and of course,
I will see Dad and Mom
and other family members when I come
to Heaven one day.
Our hope is in Jesus,
our precious Lord
and Jesus our Prince of Peace
our salvation
We have this hope as a Christian
to be absent from the body,
is to present with Jesus
in Heaven for eternity ,
where Dad is today
I love you so much Dad,
I miss you so much,
but I'll see you one day again in Heaven.
living with Jesus together for eternity.

I have a lovely memory of visiting Knox, Ann, and the cousins when I was a young teenager. While I haven't seen the Askins family in years, I know our family has been enriched with you as part of it.
In life and in death, we belong to God!
Grace and peace,
Nancy Jo Clendenin Dederer
