Obituary of Endalecio V. Salinas

Please share a memory of Endalecio to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On Friday July 5th, 2024, our beloved Andy passed gently into the hands of our loving Lord Jesus after a long battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by his loving family, clergy and friends at home as he so desired.

Andy was a man of love and God, never meeting a stranger and easily said “I love you,” without hesitation for he did.  He excused those that weren’t nice by saying, “they have a reason…”  His smile was infectious and always made you feel good, thanking you for the slightest thing you did for him or others.  Andy’s love of life was ever present, and he looked forward to “Happy Friday!”

Andy was in retail management and retired from Foley’s/Macy’s after more than 40 years where he was loved and respected by his associates.  He enjoyed growing his garden especially his tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers.  He loved watching the Texans, Astros and any football game.  However, his favorite times were spent doing anything at all with friends and family, especially his Grandchildren.

Andy was born on April 1, 1946 in Beeville, Texas to Guadalupe and Indalecio Salinas.  He was raised by his grandparents Augustine and Maria Vidaurri.  He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Alice Salinas, daughter Ann Michelle Salinas Massey and husband Michael Massey, his son Ron Christopher Salinas and wife Scherie Salinas, his grandsons, Zakary Alexander Salinas and Cristian James Salinas, his sister Cuca Sanez and husband Abel Sanez and brother, Domingo Salinas, Aunt Dolores Vidaurri, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, extended family and beloved friends.

As one of his beloved extended family members, Lynda Zak said, “Andy was pure and a simple gift from heaven to all of us.  How blessed we all were to have known him.”

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and he who loves is born of God and knows God.” 1 John 4:7
