Obituary of Tommy Dee Frasier

Tom Frasier went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the age of 79. He was
born in Slayton, Texas on August 21, 1944.
Tommy lived in Odessa, Texas and graduated from Odessa High School in 1962. Tom met
Melva (McDonald) Frasier in 1963. They married in 1965.
Tom earned a Business Administration degree from Odessa College in 1966. He then obtained a bachelors degree in Industrial Management from the University of Houston Clear Lake. His career started at Rexall Drug and Chemical in Odessa, Texas in 1967 and later transferred to La Porte, Texas in 1979. He left Rexall and worked at H. Muehlstein in Houston until he and Melva retired and moved to Kirbyville, Texas in 1999. When he moved to Kirbyville, he first worked at the Gibbs Unit at the prison in Woodville, Texas teaching prisoners how to obtain their GED. He then returned to college at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas where he earned his teaching certificate in elementary education. Once he had his teaching certifiate, he was hired at Kirbyville High School working in the Life Skills department. He then moved to Kirbyville Elementary and taught Adaptive Behavior and sixth grade Science until his true retirement in 2019.
Tom was a devoted husband, daddy, grandfather and great-grandfather. There was nothing he would not do for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, committment and kindness to his family, friends and co-workers from Kirbyville CISD.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents J.D. Frasier and Annie (Keese) Frasier, brother George C. Frasier and sister Bettie (Frasier) Kirk. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Melva (McDonald) Frasier, Melissa (Frasier) Free and husband John, John Frasier and wife Kimberly. Grandchildren: John Dee Free (J.D.) and wife Stefanie, Ashley (Free) Cook and husband Rand, Madison Frasier, Abby Frasier and Emily Frasier. Great-grandchildren: Jackson Free, Royce Free, Kennedy Cook and Conley Cook. He also leaves behind a brother Jimmie F. Frasier and wife Danielle and a host of many other family and friends.
We will be having a celebration of life on October 5,2024, at 11:00 am at Northeast Houston Church 18000 West
Lake Houston Parkway, Humble, Texas 77346 (date and time are pending).
Graveside service will take place in Bon Weir, Texas Easter weekend 2025. (Time is pending) Family/friends will be notified when plans are finalized.
