Obituary of Mark Edward Price

Mark Edward Price, 53, passed away on May 17, 2011. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Price and sister, Sheryl Searcy. Mark is survived by his mother, Viola Price; sisters, Diane O’Brien and Deedee Price; nieces and nephews, Julie Anderson and her husband, Eric, Heather Newstead and her husband, Steven, James Pouncey, Kyle O’Brien, Grant O’Brien, and Conner O’Brien; and a host of many other family and friends. Mark worked for 31 years as a contractor for the Navy. He started out as a helicopter mechanic and developed into a specialist in Quality Control. Mark was also a recovery specialist where he became a certified diver to recover helicopters that had gone down over water. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed riding with his buddies and traveling all over. Mark never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation wherever he went. He enjoyed water skiing, was a good athlete, and was a true outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mark truly loved his family and checked in on his mom all the time. He loved to sneak into town from Florida and surprise his mom. It was during these visits that Mark would bring fresh seafood and have big family cookouts, where he loved to show off his cooking skills. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A visitation for Mark will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home at 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home with Rayford Welch officiating. In lieu of flowers donations, may be made in Mark’s honor to the Searcy Scholarship.
