Obituary of Mary Alice Raby

Mary Alice (Joyce) Raby left us to be with the Lord the evening of Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in Houston, Texas.  She was born August 28, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana.  She was always known as a hard worker, both during her time working in customer service and as a substitute teacher, then as a devoted wife, mother, and caregiver for both of her parents.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband William Raby, her parents Dan and Mamie Phillips, and her brother Kenneth Phillips.  

Left to cherish Joyce's memory are her brothers Willie Herman Phillips (wife Sharon), Donald Ray Phillips, and Larry LaMette, Sr (wife Linda); her sons Cedrick Raby (wife Gaybernell), Bruce Raby, and Kevin Raby (wife Chandrika); grandchildren Ciddarious, Cedrick Jr, Michael, Jayla, Miya, Nicholas, and Alana; and great-grandchildren, Rhylee, Ceriah, Cevyn, Layla, and Uriah.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Eddye Bee, Burnette, and Jeanette, her lifelong friend Evelyn, and a host of other family and dear friends.  

In honor of Joyce's wishes, there will be no memorial service.  Instead, please hold your fondest memories of her close and keep her in your hearts forever.
