Obituary of James Richard Hall
James Richard Hall, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 22, 2024, surrounded by his family in Houston, Texas.
James was born on April 20, 1941, in Port Arthur, Texas to Lillie Mae Kallweit Hall and James “Yeager” Hall, the second of three children. He spent his formative years in Groves, Texas and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Upon graduation from high school, James enrolled at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas in the mechanical engineering school where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. James and Brenda Kesner were married on November 29, 1963, at Calder Baptist Church in Beaumont while he was still a student at Lamar. After graduating from Lamar, he was employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber facility in Orange, Texas. Shortly thereafter, their daughter was born in 1966, followed by their first son in 1970.
His career led him to Baytown, Texas, several years later when he became employed by Mobay/Bayer, a German owned company. In the meantime, they welcomed their second son in 1977. In 1983, James was transferred to the Bayer facility in Dormagen, Germany which enhanced his understanding of the culture. He finished his career at Bayer and retired in 2005.
Upon retirement, James and Brenda moved to Georgetown, Texas. He was an avid golfer at the Berry Creek Country Club where he enjoyed the presence of many friends. During this time he and Brenda enjoyed traveling the world, visiting over 40 countries. James was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of The Worship Place in Georgetown, Texas.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lillie Mae Hall. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Brenda; daughter Camille Slone and son-in-law Gregg of Friendswood, Texas; son Keith Hall of Clear Lake City, Texas; son Gordon and daughter-in-law Ashli of Colleyville, Texas; six grandchildren Kinsey Thompson and husband Cody, Cameron Slone and wife Lauren, Harrison Slone, Carson Hall, Brady Hall, Anneliese Hall; three great grandchildren Asher Slone, Elise Slone, Scotty Slone; brother, David Hall and wife Joyce of Arlington, Texas and sister Carole Moroney and husband Robert of Humble, Texas.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Thursday, December 12 at 2:30 in Westmoreland Chapel at South Main Baptist Church, 4100 Main Street, Houston, Texas.
