Obituary of Lanell Parker Neill

Lanell Parker Neill, 89, of League City passed away February 13, 2025. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 68 years, Howard Hayden Neill. Also by her parents, Hessie Kilamb Parker and Bertie Mildred Baxter Jones. Left to cherish her memory are brother Marion Parker, sister Lois Yawman, her daughter, Brenda Guy and husband, Jack; son, Howard Wesley Neill and wife, Valarie; grandchildren, Emily, Erin, Elizabeth, Lindsey, Wesley, Parker Jane; great grandchildren, Keegan, Trey, Ashley, J.T., Josh, Harrison, Lucy, Violet, Mary Grace, Reb, Jordana, Thomas Jonathan, Elijah, and Susanna Joy; great-great grandchild, Mackenzie Jo-Lynn; and a host of other family and dear friends; particularly her good friend Julie Fowler.

Lanell was an excellent homemaker and a wonderful cook. For years she enjoyed her weekly bridge club with friends from the neighborhood. In her younger days she liked to travel and fish; enjoying RV traveling with her family, especially in the western United States. Lanell loved a cold Dr. Pepper, especially if she had a Whataburger to go with it. Lanell will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Lanell’s honor to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 701 San Jacinto St., La Porte, Texas 77571.

 Services for Lanell will be Tuesday, February 18th at Clayton Funeral Home, 201 S 3rd. La Porte, Texas. The service will be officiated by Lanell’s grandson, Wesley Neill, her son, Bro. Wes Neill and Pastor Joey Whitener. The visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with the funeral service following at 10:30 a.m.. Interment will take place at Woods Cemetery, Panola County, Texas at 4 p.m.
