Obituary of Dennis Joseph Stanko Sr.

Dennis Joseph Stanko Sr passed away on Saturday, March 1^st, 2025, at the age of 72. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis Stanko and Irene (Davis) Stanko; daughter, Kandyce Stanko; and brother, Frank Stanko. Left to cherish Dennis’ memory are his wife, Mary Ann (Pante) Stanko; sons, Dennis Stanko, Sean Stanko and wife Cheryl; grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler, Colton, and Brooke; niece, Rene Fraley and husband Allen; and a host of many other family and friends.

Dennis was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was married to Mary Ann for 46 years.  He honorably served his country for four years in the United States Airforce.   He attended Purdue University in Indiana before getting a job offer to move to Texas in 1980.   He worked for Graver Tank as a Designer, RFI as a Storage Tank Designer, Houston Area Research Center working on the Super Collider, and ended his career of 20 years with S&B Engineers as a buyer. Dennis never missed a chance to attend his sons sporting events and also coached them in soccer and baseball. When he could, Dennis would make trips home to Indiana to visit his family and travel around Texas. In his leisure time, Dennis loved to golf and do photography, before he became ill, and would work in his garden, cook barbecue, relax in the pool, listen to Rush Limbaugh and spend time with his family. Dennis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services for Dennis will be held at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland on Thursday, March 6^th, 2025. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with the service commencing at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Houston National Cemetery on Monday, March 17^th, at 10:45 am.
