Obituary of Kenneth Guy Crofoot
On April 8, 2025, the world lost a great man, father and Paw Paw.
Kenneth Guy Crofoot was born on December 9, 1928, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He moved to La Porte, Texas as a child as his father was employed to build the San Jacinto Monument.
Kenneth graduated from La Porte High School in 1946. Not only did he earn an education while at La Porte High, but he also met the love of his life. He married Gwendolyn Tucker in 1950. They were happily married for 54 years living the American dream and raising a beautiful family.
Kenneth dedicated his working years to Du Pont Chemical Company. He was a loyal employee for 37 years before retiring in 1985. He was highly respected and loved at Du Pont.
Kenneth was an avid golfer. Tuesday and Thursday you would find him at Bay Forest Golf Course. He also had a passion for woodworking. He built beautiful tables, dressers, desks and armoires. When he wasn’t golfing or building things, he was watching his favorite team, the Houston Astros.
He loved to help others and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and was an usher at First United Methodist Church.
Kenneth loved his family. He provided for them with everything he had. He was a very special Father and Paw Paw. Always there with a smile and a hug.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gwendolyn Tucker, son Kenneth Kevin Crofoot, mother Mamie, Father Benjamin, Sisters Mildred and Dorothy, Brothers Gould and Jack.
He is survived by daughter Susan Powers and husband, Gary, daughter Jan Crofoot, daughter Brigitte Crofoot, son David Crofoot and wife Michelle, grandson Chadd Mikulin and wife Amanda Lenertz, grandson Kyle Mikulin and wife Misty, grandson Luke Crofoot, granddaughter Alyssa Crofoot, granddaughter Jennifer Furman and husband Dallas, great grandsons Carson Mikulin and Truman Mikulin, grand godson Cortez Tipton.
The family would like to send special gratitude to the care givers who showed such great care and compassion for him: Cheesa, Crystal, Emma, Fred, Emmy, Adoralyn, Grace and hospice nurse Michelle.
