Obituary of Charles "Bobby" R. Berkley

Charles “Bobby” Berkley went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by his loving family. Bobby was a lifelong resident of La Porte, TX. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, papaw, brother, uncle, and friend.

Bobby graduated from La Porte High School in 1957 before attending Lee College. He was a Chemical Process Technician for USI, when he was drafted by the Army. He served 2 years in the Army as an MP in Germany. Bobby worked for USI for 35 years. He was a man of great faith and told everyone he met about Jesus. Bobby never met a stranger. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke, and a lot of laughs. Bobby was smart and knowledgeable on any subject.

He enjoyed playing tuba in his Dixieland Bands for many years. He enjoyed sending text messages of scriptures and words of encouragement to his family and friends. Bobby loved the Texas Hill Country and travelled there with his family for many years. His children cherish all the great memories.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Mary Berkley, sister Jean Thompson, brother: Jimmy Berkley and his loving wife of 56 years Pat. He is survived, by his children, sons: Mark Berkley and wife Sharon, Troy Berkley and wife Pamela, daughters: Pam Adams and Kristi Berkley, grandchildren; Karissa, Troy David, Dalton, Kaylee, Sadie, and Alexis, sister; Jolene Wickel and host of other family and friends.  Bobby will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  

Services for Bobby will be held at the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel 201 S 3^rd St. in La Porte Visitation: Tuesday April 22 6:00-8:00 PM Service: Wednesday April 23 11:00 AM
