Jeffry (DooDad) Joe Jeffers, 66, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Friendswood, Texas.
A short memorial service will be held at the Houston National Cemetery at 10:30 AM on June 16, 2025, located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive (Lane 2), Houston, TX 77038.
Jeffry was born in Texas City, Texas, to Joe and Wynelle Jeffers on August 7, 1958. He attended Friendswood High School and graduated in 1976. Shortly after, he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country from 1976 to 1980 as an aircraft mechanic. After his military service, he continued his career as a grounds support equipment mechanic.
Jeffry loved soaking up the sun, whether he was fishing, golfing, or acting as the unofficial (and often very vocal) referee during lively family game nights. He had a sharp mind for chess, a ruthless Monopoly strategy, and a heart that always prioritized time with his grandchildren.
Jeffry is survived by his three children: Jenny Ann (Jeffers) Morrison of Friendswood, Texas; Jillian Faye (Jeffers) Gray of Dickinson, Texas; and Isaac Jeffers of Cypress, Texas. He is also survived by his three siblings: Janice Jonelle (Jeffers) Sallee of Friendswood, Texas; Jana Justine (Jeffers) Winston of Paris, Texas; and James Jay Jeffers of Manvel, Texas.
“DooDad” was the proud grandfather of six: Madison Lee Morrison, Mayson May Morrison, Maddox James Morrison, Maybree Jayne Morrison, Preston Alexander Gray, and Carter Benjamin Gray. He is also survived by his nieces: Shannon Rae (Sallee) Moore, Sheela Rene (Sallee) Rachal, Jeana Marie Sallee, Jolene Wynelle (Jeffers) Haas, and Shelby Kate (Winston) Driggers; and by his nephews: Jeff J. Jeffers, Irby Hunter Winston, Quinn Van Meter Winston, and Henry Owen Winston.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Wynelle Jeffers.
