Please share a memory of Ivy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ivy Hawkins Randall, 75, passed away on June 21, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ivy and Leal Hawkins; and grandchild Michael Eheler. Ivy is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Lainey Randall; sons, Kenneth Lyons, and Mark Randall and his wife, Laura; daughters, Liz Lyons and Katherine Eheler; grandchildren Sammy Lyons, Maranda Lyons, Brandee Lyons, Kristen Lyons, Christopher Eheler, Stevie Eheler, Lynzi Eheler, Lane Randall, Brett Randall and McKenna Randall; and a host of many other family and friends. Ivy was a successful career woman with State Farm for over 20 years, serving in a variety of positions including as a manager and trainer for claims adjusters. “Granny,” as she was affectionately known to her grandchildren was an excellent baker of pies and in their eyes all other pies were measured against hers. She loved sports and was especially fond of the Houston Astros and University of Texas football team. Ivy was never one to pass judgment on others and instilled a strong sense of caring and compassion in her family. She was a 26 year breast cancer survivor who courageously fought through her illness; never complaining about treatments. Lainey and Ivy enjoyed traveling together throughout the great Northwest and Canada on Lainey’s photography expeditions. They stayed away from the tourist areas and enjoyed the backcountry that few people ever saw and Ivy had many opportunities to indulge in her passion for fishing. Ivy will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A Visitation for Ivy will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2011 from 2:00 until 4:00 in the afternoon at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The Funeral Service will be on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 10:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home with Pastor John Davis officiating. Interment will take place at Houston National Cemetery at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ivy’s honor to the American Parkinson Disease Association at www.apdaparkinson.org.
