Obituary of Dana Janeen Kelm

Dana Janeen Hathaway Kelm, 60, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Dolores Hathaway. Dana is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Russell Kelm; brothers of the heart, Dan Hoke and Phil Koepp; daughter of the heart, Shannon Reed; and a host of many other family and friends. Dana was born in Eunice, New Mexico on February 24, 1951 and her family moved to Houston shortly thereafter. She graduated from Jesse H Jones High School in 1969. Through the years, Dana worked in the accounting department for Grocers Supply, Mosbacher Energy and Glazier Foods. Always quick to laugh, Dana brought an expressive smile, high ideals, determination and a diplomatic yet insistent manner to every relationship. Dana was a life long member of the Houston Livestock show & Rodeo for more than 30 years. She volunteered with the livestock committee in various capacities for many years. Dana’s passion for serving the community was as a member and recent treasurer for Elks Lodge 2732. She avidly shared the Lodge’s particular interest in military support. Additionally, she was also active in autism support groups. Dana will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A Memorial Service for Dana will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 10:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Rev. Dr. Dan Hoke officiating. Following the service, the family will be receiving guests at a reception at the Elks Lodge #2732 at 2834 Wagon Trail, Pearland, Texas 77584. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Church Street Station, P.O.
