Obituary of Walter Philip Winsett

Walter Philip Winsett, 86, passed away on August 29, 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Inez Winsett; brothers, Harold R. Winsett, Billy G. Winsett, E. Michael Burgess; and sister, Barbara Lonon-Patterson. Walter was survived by his brother, Marion H. Winsett and his wife, Tica; and a host of many other family and friends. Walter was known to his family as “Buddy” and to his fellow servicemen as “Wimpy”. He served his country for almost 20 years. He also worked with his uncle, Byron Winsett’s electrical company in Memphis. He came to live closer to his brothers in Houston about 25 years ago. Buddy enjoyed his family, fishing, coin collecting and crossword puzzles. He was a fan of country music and old movies and loved the family dog, Duffy. Buddy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A graveside service for Buddy will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038 with Rev. Bob Moore of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Friendswood officiating.
