Grace Marie Elliott, 81, passed away on December 5, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Sarah Fabian; and brothers, Edward and Ronnie Fabian. Grace is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Virgil Coy Elliott; sons, Michael C. Elliott and his wife, Brenda, Randall A. Elliott and his wife, Christina, Lonnie Elliott and his wife, Suzanne; daughters, Sandra Elliott Dreiling and her husband, Richard, Carol Elliott Cernosek and her husband, James; sisters, Frances Ewart, Charlene Rose Kern and her husband, Ken; grandchildren, Michaelynn Dreiling, Shawnna Dreiling Loyd, Christopher M. Elliott, Taryn Elliott Little, Coy H. Elliott, Tiffany Elliott Bowlin, Jeffrey B. Elliott, Lendsey Elliott, Blake Cernosek, Sarah Elliott, Maggie Elliott, and Christopher Cernosek; great grandchildren, Zachary Watson, Shannon Elliott, Avery Elliott, Brandon Watson, Jackson Loyd, Kaylin Eliott, Madison Vandiver, Emma Rose Loyd, Colton Elliott, Bryson Bowlin, Harper Little, and Kaiya Vandiver; and a host of other family and friends. Grace loved her crossword puzzles and watching game shows. As a young lady she was very athletic and enjoyed water skiing. She enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school at Garden Road Baptist in the late 70’s and 80’s. Grace always enjoyed cooking for her family and while her children where growing up she always made sure they had home cooked meals when they all sat down together as a family. Grace was affectionately known to all of her grandchildren as “Grammy”. She always had a special bond with her sisters and they remained very close throughout her life. Grace also kept in touch with many of her classmates from grade school and High School. Grace enjoyed working most of her life, serving as the administrative assistant to the Superintendent of the Alief Independent School District for more than five years. She also served as the Secretary/Treasurer for Virelco Inc. on Garden Road for many years. Grace was always there for Virgil, her dedication and commitment was tireless and unwavering to him. She was also there to lend a helping hand to Lonnie at Elliott’s Automotive Inc. when ever he needed help…that’s what Moms do. Grace has been cancer survivor for more than 40 years and was an inspiration to all of her family because of her love, strength and fortitude throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the staff at Colonial Oaks Assisted Living in Pearland for their care and support of Grace and Virgil for the past two years. They would also like to thank Dr. Mohammed Quirashi and the staff at Bayshore Medical Center; their professionalism and compassion far exceeded the family’s expectations. The visitation and funeral services for Grace will take place on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland TX 77581. The visitation will begin at 12 noon with the funeral service starting at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Bob Joiner and Rev. Dr. Keith Whitaker officiating. The interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
