Grace Brull, 79, passed away peacefully at home on December 21, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents Kornelius “Son” and Pearl Snell; brothers, Mark, Odell, Darnell and Darwin Snell; sisters, Hazel Harris, Myrtis Bonner, and LaVerne Echart. Grace is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Elmer Brull; sons, Dwight Brull, Greg Brull and wife, Cheryl; daughters, Terry Wemhoff and Richard; Renee Miller and husband, Joe; sisters, Pearl Lockhart and Ocie Lea Parker; grandchildren, Michelle Brull, Christopher Brull and wife, Amanda; Laura Brull, Beth Brull, Scott Wemhoff and wife, Stephanie; Jennifer Wemhoff and fiancé, Ryan Odom; great grandchild, Rilynn Wemhoff; and a host of family and friends. After graduation from high school, Grace moved to Houston, Texas to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. It was then that she met her sweetheart, Elmer. They married on March 22, 1951 when Elmer was on furlough from Fort Polk while serving in the United States Army. Upon Elmer’s return after the end of the Korean War, Grace and Elmer started their family. Grace was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and with the birth of Rilynn, also a very proud great grandmother. In the kitchen, Grace had a way of making even the simplest of foods taste great. She has given the family many wonderful memories of laughter and love while enjoying great foods from her kitchen. Grace’s children and grandchildren will treasure their memories of her teaching them the love for the joy of cooking as well as the love of great food. For the past year, Grace was also sharing her cooking skills with Elizabeth, her caretaker, and had recently taught her how to make her wonderful blueberry cobbler. “Grandma” loved to give of herself and shower her grandchildren with attention and special gifts. She loved her family and cherished any amount of time she was able to share with them even if it was just a quick hug and “I love you”. Grace was devoted to her church, enjoyed reading her daily prayer books and spending time with her friends in her Saturday evening church group. Grace will be cherished always and greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. The family would like to extend special thanks to Grace’s caregiver, Elizabeth, for her loving care over the past year. A visitation for Grace will be held on Monday, December 26, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland.
