Obituary of Irma Smith

Irma B. Smith, age 81 of Pearland, passed away after a long illness on June 27, 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents, Astorre & Pierina (Gattino) Biscottini, and husband, Kennith Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Bittick & her husband Guy, Debbie Lytle & her husband Paul, and Donna Gregory; brothers, Eugenio Biscottini & his wife Deloras, and Aldo Biscottini & his wife Lucille; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Irma was born on December 16, 1927 in Tenafly, New Jersey. She resided in the Houston area since 1948 and settled in Pearland in 1961. Irma and Kenneth were married for fifty-one years. She was the matriarch of her family and the rock that they leaned upon. Her grandchildren lovingly called her Grandma and her great-grandchildren called her Grandma G.G., for “Great Grandma”. She always enjoyed the Easter and Christmas holidays when she could decorate and buy presents for everyone. Irma had a very easygoing attitude about life, was extremely giving towards others, and never met a stranger. Her unconditional love will be missed but always remembered by her entire family. Visitation for Irma will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 10:00 am in the Clayton Chapel. Chaplain Charles Flannigan will be officiating. Interment will immediately follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland.
